We Passed the Test...Walk for the Cure

A couple days ago Boomer and I went to a place called Wagging Tails.  We had to take a test so they could make sure we were good boys.  We passed!  We get to go back sometime.  It was fun, but very tiring.  Boomer slept all night.

On Saturday, Daddy and Mommy went on a walk to cure Type I Diabetes at the Mall of America.  There were so many people!  It's a good thing furry friends weren't invited because I would not have been able to walk that far.  Daddy and Mommy walked on three levels of the mall so I think they went a long distance.  They said it was great to see so many people participate.

We're back to having  very cold weather, but it should warm up very soon.  Hope you have a wonderful day!

Rudy

Boomer and Me

Mommy has a little cold.  I am taking care of her by sitting on her lap and keeping her warm.  I didn't have time to write much, so I decided to post this picture of Boomer and me with our new haircuts.

Will the Snow Never End and Other News...

Thursday I was interviewed for an online publication for AOL.  Since most humans don't understand me when I speak, I let Mommy do the talking.  But I put on a good performance!  I did a bunch of dancing, hopping up and down, cuddling in laps, some barking, and generally being cute. My favorite part was posing for the pictures.  The interviewer said I always looked right at the camera.  It was fun.

My friend David just got his new book cover - it looks great!  The book is called, "Spyder."  He writes exactly the opposite of what I do.  It's for grownups.  We are very excited.  Maybe our new books will be done around the same time.

Today it has snowed a lot, and then it will get cold.  I was looking forward to spring.  I like snow, but we've already had enough.  I really enjoyed playing in the sun last week.  Oh well - I guess we might feel the grass on our feet by June (ha, ha).

I get my haircut tomorrow!

Rudy

Fun, fun, fun in the Sun

Yesterday we took our first official family ride.  I changed seats often - we'll figure it out.  Mommy and Daddy went to Faribault (about 50 miles away) and met many children at two schools.  Boomer! and I went to doggy day care and played with all our friends.  It was fun!

Today was beautiful - Mommy and I bagged rays - that means we enjoyed the sun, while Daddy and Boomer! played frisbee.  It's nice to spend time outside.

We are working on our fourth book and just need a couple more illustrations completed so we can start laying out the book for printing.  It's very exciting!  A lot of people are supposed to be contacting Mommy for future events, so I hope they do.  She loves them!

My bald spot is called alopecia - no big deal.  Hopefully it will grow back in a year or I might get a tattoo!

My First Trip in the Rudymobile

Happy Valentine's Day everyone!  Today I had my first trip in the Rudymobile.  I had a little bald spot, and of course Mommy was worried about it, so off Daddy and I went to the vet.  I got to see Dr. Korbel (she is the vet from my book "Rudy's Check Up").  She thought it was a reaction to my rabies shot - sometimes that happens to poodles.  Wow!  Who knew?  I learned something new today!

On the way to the doctor, I sat in the front seat.  On the way back, I sat in the back seat.  I'm not quite sure which one I like best.  I will figure that out tomorrow when we take our first official family ride.

The weather has been beautiful so far this week, so Boomer and I have spent more time outside playing with our friends.  I hope spring comes soon.

Have a great night!
Love
Rudy

Riding and Walking

Tuesday is going to be our first official family ride in the Rudy mobile.  Daddy and Mommy will drop off Boomer! and me at doggy day care so we can play with our friends.  Then they will go to Faribault to visit two schools.  We will all have fun!  We are still deciding if I get to ride in the front or if it will be Mommy.

The weather is warmer so now we can start walking again!  We need the practice!  Daddy and Mommy are doing the Juvenile Diabetes Walk for the Cure on February 26th at the Mall of America.  I was going to walk too, but found out furry friends can't go inside.  Maybe next time.  Some friends of ours may join the team.  Maybe I could hide inside Daddy's jacket.

Rudy

Super Bowl Sunday....Boomer! Gets the First Ride in my Rudymobile

Mommy and Daddy went to a Super Bowl Party on Sunday.  They had fun.  Boomer and I had our own party at home.  We didn't care who won.  Late that night Boomer got sick.  He had a very sad tummy and needed many trips outside - all night long.  Nobody got any sleep.  The next morning, Daddy took him to the doctor.  Boomer got the first ride in my Rudymobile.  We found out one thing - Boomer can't ride in the front seat - he is too heavy and makes the seat belt alarm go off.  Guess that means I will for sure be Daddy's co-pilot.

Boomer was fine.  The vet thinks he probably ate something that didn't agree with him.  To be on the safe side, Boomer got some medicine to help his tummy.  It made him sleepy and goofy.  Everyone went to bed early Monday night.  He feels much better today, and we are back to playing nonstop!

Daddy finished the pictures from the events.  Here are the links: Cedar Park Young Authors, Cedar Park Family Night and Pine Bend Elementary  - hope you enjoy!

Nothing Better than Warm Weather, Fun and Little Poodles

The last few days have been so exciting!  The weather has been nicer, and we have had many programs.  Mommy and Daddy went to a family fun night Thursday.  They were the featured speakers.  The kids and the grown ups were great!  There were lots of activities including: my stories, big dogs that listen to children read, bingo and skits.  It's probably a good thing I had to stay home and take care of Boomer - sometimes I get a little scared of unfamiliar big dogs.  I'm practicing not being afraid of them, so I'm getting better.

One nice man wondered what was meant by real "toy poodle."  Then it hit us - not everybody knows that "toy" is often a way to say "small" when you talk about the size of dogs.  He thought it meant something to play with.  From now on we are going to call me a cute little poodle.

Friday morning Mommy and Daddy went to a school to talk to many children (almost 400).  They asked lots of questions, including: Does Rudy like to be the main character in our books?  Mommy said that I love it.  She is right - I do!  Some of the children from that school drew pictures of me - aren't they cute?  They look just like me.
Daddy says he will have the pictures of the events on the website very soon, maybe even tomorrow!  This has been a great week.

PT and the Coach, Smiles All Around!

Daddy started his "PT" and I am his coach!  I mimic him.  When he stretches to the left, I stretch to the left.  When he stretches right, I go right.  When he opens his mouth and takes a deep breath, I do too!  I'm really good at it - kind of like a living mirror.  Now Daddy knows by seeing me, if he is doing his exercises correctly.  I'm accurate too.  He's seen me coping Mommy before.  Daddy laughed then because he thought it was funny!  Now Daddy appreciates my skill and intelligence.

We are getting ready for many programs later this week.  It's going to be lots of fun!  I bet it will be a smiley weekend.  Programs and warmer weather means lots of smiles!

Love,
Rudy the Smiling Coach (hahahahaha)
